A shared vision

2007. Darren Clarke competes at the British Open in Scotland, choosing Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort on Omachie Farm as his home from home. The Kingennie lochs allow him to practice his fishing with Former National Fly Fishing Champion, Mike Forbes. Mike also happens to be the farmer and developer of Omachie Farm, the land on which Kingennie was built. Over the next few weeks, a strong friendship was forged and one evening, Mike decided to share a secret with Darren: The Shank of Omachie.

Mike knew The Shank of Omachie (Gaelic for “land of the many hollows”) was special but his love of the land was confirmed when Darren stood in awe of the incredible undulation and movement in the land.

The Shank of Omachie combined peerless vistas with spectacular Scottish scenery and inspired Darren to create his first 18-hole Championship Signature Golf Course in the Home of Golf, Scotland.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a creation of an exceptional destination resort in Scotland with an international reach. The following headlines summarise a unique development with the vision to create a trophy asset delivering world class leisure facilities and excellent commercial returns.

  • Darren Clarke and Graeme Webster of Team Niblick.
  • Mike Forbes and Darren Clarke.
